TVgram is an unofficial Telegram client developed specifically for Android TV. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is handled when you use the application.
1. Relationship with Telegram
TVgram is built using the official Telegram Database Library (TDLib). By using this application, you are connecting directly to Telegram’s servers via an encrypted MTProto connection. Your use of TVgram is also governed by the Telegram Privacy Policy.
2. Data Collection and Usage
To provide messaging functionality on your TV, the following data is processed:
- Personal Information: We process your phone number for authentication and your User ID to manage your session. This data is transmitted directly to Telegram and is not stored on any servers controlled by the developer.
- Messages & Media: Your chat history, messages, and media are fetched directly from Telegram’s servers. We do not monitor, share, or collect this data externally.
3. Data Security & Storage
- Encryption in Transit: All data is encrypted during transmission using Telegram’s MTProto protocol.
- Local Storage: To ensure a fast experience, TVgram stores chat history and session data locally on your device in an encrypted database. This data is protected by the Android system’s hardware-backed Keystore.
4. Account and Data Deletion
We respect your right to control your data. Below are the steps to request or perform data deletion:
Local Data Deletion
You can delete all locally stored data (chats, media, and authentication tokens) by:
- Logging Out: Using the “Sign Out” option within the app settings will immediately delete all local session tokens.
- Manual Clear: Using the “Clear Data” option in your Android TV System Settings for the TVgram app.
Telegram Account Deletion
As TVgram is a client, your account exists on Telegram’s servers. To permanently delete your Telegram account and all associated data, please follow the official Telegram account deactivation process here:
5. Third-Party Sharing
TVgram does not share your data with any third-party services, advertisers, or analytics providers. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We recommend reviewing this page periodically for any changes. The “Last Updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent version.
